I wanted to make something different. Since it is getting close to Halloween we had Reese's in the house. I made a chocolate cupcake and had planned to add either chocolate icing or chocolate syrup, instead I added both. The Second frosting is Peanut Butter Buttercreme. I topped it with cut up pieces of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and drizzled chocolate syrup on top of that.
This cupcake looks extremely sweet, but it isn't. I think the salty taste of the peanut butter really brings down the sweetness. I love it. Usually I can only eat two cupcakes from a batch, but I think I have had at least three this time. this is also the first time I came up with the cupcake completely on my own imagination.
What to make next?
This is a collection of cakes that inspire me. I may post some of my own cakes, but in general they are not my creations.

Super Mario Cake
Making a ckae for my boys is never easy. I saw the Super Mario cakes and decided to give it a try. Who wouldn't love a cake like this? It makes me nostalgic for the old days. The cake was a complete surprise to my son and he really enjoyed it. The icing is fondant and buttercreme accents.

Fondant Tastes Good???
For anyone out there afraid to try fondant, I would go for it. I use the Marshmallow Fondant I made at home and did not add any flavoring.

Fondant Present Cake
This is my own creation from my Wilton 3 class. This is made completely with fondant. The bow was super easy to make and I would definitely use it again on a cake. I had my doubts that my cake would turn out this cute, but am very pleased with the outcome.

Pokemon Cupcake Cake
I have wanted to try making a cupcake cake for a long time. This is my first try. It was a lot of fun and can't wait to try another one soon. I layed my cupcakes out on a cake board and glued down the outside ones with frosting. This cake includes 24 cupcakes. Then I used the large Wilton Tip for icing the top. Using a hot spatula I spread the icing. Then just piped my border and added my decorations. Yum! Yum!

Wouldn't these be great cupcakes for an 80's party, or for a 30th or 40th birthday party? Great eye for detail.
