Making a ckae for my boys is never easy. I saw the Super Mario cakes and decided to give it a try. Who wouldn't love a cake like this? It makes me nostalgic for the old days. The cake was a complete surprise to my son and he really enjoyed it. The icing is fondant and buttercreme accents.
This is a collection of cakes that inspire me. I may post some of my own cakes, but in general they are not my creations.

Fondant Tastes Good???
For anyone out there afraid to try fondant, I would go for it. I use the Marshmallow Fondant I made at home and did not add any flavoring.

Fondant Present Cake
This is my own creation from my Wilton 3 class. This is made completely with fondant. The bow was super easy to make and I would definitely use it again on a cake. I had my doubts that my cake would turn out this cute, but am very pleased with the outcome.

Pokemon Cupcake Cake
I have wanted to try making a cupcake cake for a long time. This is my first try. It was a lot of fun and can't wait to try another one soon. I layed my cupcakes out on a cake board and glued down the outside ones with frosting. This cake includes 24 cupcakes. Then I used the large Wilton Tip for icing the top. Using a hot spatula I spread the icing. Then just piped my border and added my decorations. Yum! Yum!

Princess Castle Cake
I made this cake for my daughter's birthday party tomorrow. I was definitely a difficult cake to make, but it turned out o.k. for a newby cake decorator. My husband drilled holes in the towers, so I could stick a skewer or dowel rod though the cake to hold them still. The turrets are covered in purple candy melts and sanding sugar. The cake is buttercream icing.
This is more cake than we need, but she saw a picture and wanted one. It was fun.
Drop Flower Cupcakes
These are very fancy looking, but they are actually a simple design. No matter how simple the design, these are amazing cupcakes.
Hannah Montana Cupcake Cake
Hannah Montana is so popular right now that almost any girl over the age of 4 would ask for a cake like this. Kiddiekakes always does a great job and this cake is a perfect example of that. A simple design that is still amazing.

Birthday Cupcakes for my Daughter
My latest cupcakes. I made the rose pattern on top. It was so easy and the effect is nice. I put all three colors in a pastry bag and just let the colors combine. This is a really neat look and gives a lot of interest to the cupcakes.

Cupcakes, What to do with Leftover Frosting...
I had several colors of frosting left, so I started to put themin a piping bag and came up with a variety of colors. I started out with red and yellow. Then I added green, purple, and blue. They were very cute. I ran out of cupcakes, so I will have more to make next week.
